HUGE BEAUTIFUL is the 7th release from CIVILS a.k.a. Drew Kirby (Mothers, New Wives, O Key) and the project's most "traditional" or conventionally-minded outing since HOTHOUSE FLOWERS (2016) -- lots of acoustic guitar & tambourine, a lite breeze or quilt.

There's still "Hunk Alignment" though: a duet of guitar improvisations around 2 central motifs, with lyrics ruminating on masculinity & autonomy ("Robert Redford/Steve McQueen/ and James Dean/hunk alignment-minded/decided who am I") as well as the final track "Harbinger", another cluster of guitar collages & tape manipulations - hopefully enough oddities strewn about as a tonic to the saccharine.
