about

Fake Flowers have returned, madeover and reimagined, with the followup to 2014's Opaque Pop. The new EP is called WONDER WAVE, and it marks the first display of a significant reimagining of the creative process of Fake Flowers as an entity. From power pop trio to kaleidoscopic surfgaze art collective (or something), "Wonder Wave" was dutifully home recorded over the summer + back half of 2014, then mixed at Sleeping Partner Studios with Nathaniel Kiser.

Featuring Jacob Chisenhall on guitar and vocals, Jack Wucher on bass and vocals (occasionally penning songs himself, "Anna" is the first of those), and Andy Barton on drums, with Brittany Wages contributing visually & conceptually through the highly-collaborative artwork that fills the accompanying insert booklet rendered collectively by all members.

"Wonder Wave" is a 6-track auditory explosion of fluid pop and candy-eared homegrown psychedelia. Taken from Flagpole Magazine:

"There have been many recent variations of this tender-hearted jangle, but these guys are more bright-eyed and lively than most... One hears the wide-eyed wonder in the band members’ voices, and wants to frolic with them, wherever they are."
